徒歩帰宅の途中。
点滅する青信号に反応し、VICTORIA STREET へ続く、HILL STREETの横断歩道を駆け抜けたら…
何故か右も左も分からずトレーニーとして派遣され、最初に数泊した当時はALLSON HOTEL(@Victoria street)と言った安ホテルの事を突然思い出した…。

赴任の後半には、人気お好み焼き店、なんじゃもんじゃ が入居してました。
当時は、ビジネスマンが東南アジアで泊まるホテルのレベル感など思いもよらず「研修生」プライスのホテルでも、効用は割と高かったですね。
確かにこんな感じの部屋でした。
こんな10等身の東南アジア美人がいた訳もなく…。
プールなど楽しむ間などなく、夜にチェックインして、翌朝出頭。当日中に前トレーニーのインド人街にある「下宿」をあてがわれてチェック・アウト❗️
外装をリノベーションしてから、名前を変えたんですね。
一見、ちょっとニーアンシティっぽい（笑）。
大理石が本当にお好きなチャイニーズ系。

まだ20代、本当に若かったし何でも真新しく新鮮だったよね。
大きな不安の下に、メラメラと希望の炎🔥を燃やしていた。
夜のHill Street の横断歩道を駆け抜けたとき、15年前の自分とすれ違った気がしてハッと振り向けば後ろ姿しか見えない。
その顔が見れたとしても、きっと眩し過ぎて正視できないだろう自分がちょっと恥ずかしい。
不思議な一瞬。

👱🏻♂️: そう、でしたね。ホテルから歩いて、晩飯に初めてホッカーセンターに行った時の情景を思い出しました。
👾: そうだったよね。何を食べたかは詳細覚えてませんが、何かオカズトッピング系のライスを食べて、「悪くないじゃん」と思った様な記憶が微かに残ってます。
